An Agra in a pared, neutral register where time has softened ornament into atmosphere. The field reads as a layered floral lattice, tiny palmettes and vine scrolls in cream, ivory and tan, framed by a low-contrast border. High distress has mellowed the original contrasts, producing tonal abrash and areas of surface abrasion that accentuate the wool’s soft sheen. This antique rug feels quietly worn and considered rather than decorative, a study in subtlety and patina. Circa 1890 - 1920. Measures 10' 3" x 13' 8" and offers a restrained, tactile presence for considered interiors.
