A long Mahal in wool, this runner carries an intricate all-over floral arabesque rendered in a restrained neutral palette. Soft cream and white highlights and warm brown accents form repeating palmettes and interlaced vinework across the narrow field, held within slender floral borders. Surface abrash and medium distress give a tactile patina; the pile is visibly softened along the centre and length. The piece reads as both pattern and provenance, a quietly aged study in material craft and restraint. Circa 1885 - 1910. Size: 5' 10" x 19' 4". This antique rug retains a considered, tactile character.
