This Baluch is a compact, tactile study in banded geometry rendered in wool. At 1' 3" x 1' 5" the piece shows finely repeated vertical gul motifs and stacked registers, finished with a dense tasseled fringe. The warm brown and cream palette has softened with age into subtle abrash and layered patina; medium distress exposes the clothlike hand and well-travelled surface. The texture reads like a fragment of nomadic weaving practice, intimate in scale and rich in material presence. An antique rug that feels both utilitarian and carefully considered. Circa 1885 - 1905
