This Mahal antique rug measures 8' 9" x 11' 9" and presents a faded, composed palette of blue, cream, white, and coral. A large central diamond settles into a field of floral and geometric detail, while the surrounding border carries smaller blossoms and repeating ornament with an easy, time-softened rhythm. The wool surface shows medium distress, with visible wear and layered fading that flatten the colours into a restrained, atmospheric whole. Circa 1920 - 1940, it reflects the elegant density and lived-in depth often sought in a Mahal. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
