This Mahal is a large, quietly worn wool antique rug measuring 11' 5" x 14' 6". A refined, allover floral field of palmettes and rosettes sits within a sequence of narrow guard borders; soft cream and neutral taupe read through faded reds and touches of pale green. The surface shows medium distress and subtle abrash that gives the design a layered, time-softened presence. The weave language remains delicate and legible despite even wear, offering a tactile, heritage-rich character. Circa 1880 - 1900.
