A well-proportioned Tabriz with a restrained, time-softened palette in brown, neutral and gold. The large central medallion sits within a scalloped cartouche, its floral arabesques articulated into layered borders that read with quiet elegance. The wool pile shows medium distress and even abrash that lends a mellow patina to the ground; edges are softened but intact. This piece reads as an antique rug with a tactile surface and composed, classical geometry. Circa 1885 - 1905. Exact size: 15' 2" x 24' 3". The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
