The palette moves between ivory, teal, deep blue, burgundy, blush, and sage, with the worn surface lending a calm, time-softened depth. A detailed border frames the composition and holds the image together even as the centre reads as painterly and diffuse. Circa 1940 - 1965, the rug carries medium distress that enhances its textural character without diminishing the intricacy of the design.
