This Mahal rug carries an expansive ivory field punctuated by a deep navy central medallion and an allover network of palmettes, scrolling vines and small floral motifs in rust, muted blues and green. Woven in wool, the piece shows low distress with a soft, tactile pile and subtle abrash that adds dimensional colour to the neutral ground. Warm red guard borders frame the composition with measured geometry. Quietly aged yet well preserved, this antique rug reads as a considered study in pattern and patina. Circa 1910 - 1925.
