A Tabriz of refined restraint, this antique rug measures 9' 6" x 13' 4". A sun-softened cream field frames a large lotus-like central medallion in warm browns and muted taupe, its serrated petals resolved in dense floral arabesques and delicate vine work. Corner roundels and layered guards repeat the scale in the borders, giving structured rhythm to the composition. Woven in wool, the surface shows medium distress with gentle abrash, softened highlights and even moderate pile wear that reveal age without compromising pattern. The tactile hand and neutral palette feel quietly measured and heritage-aware. Circa 1900 - 1920.
