A long Ravar Kerman in wool, 14' 9" x 33' 8", articulated by a dense floral allover of palmettes, rosettes and repeating boteh-like forms. The field reads predominantly purple with blue, cream and white accents that create a quietly variegated surface. Narrow layered borders frame the composition while low distress preserves a soft hand and clear motif work; faint creasing and gentle edge softening remain as evidence of age. This antique rug reads as a richly detailed, tactile weave whose ornament has mellowed with time. Circa 1925 - 1940. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
