An Agra in wool that reads as a lesson in restraint and tactility. The soft ivory ground is patterned with scrolling arabesques, small diamond medallions and delicate rosettes outlined in charcoal and softened by taupe and dusty rose. At 9' 0" x 11' 8" the composition is generous yet quietly detailed; the wool pile shows mellow abrasion and even abrash that reveal a layered, lived-in colour. Borders of cartouche and leaf motifs frame the field with gentle, age-softened edges. This antique rug presents the calm geometry and floral syntax of Agra design with a muted, heritage-worn presence. Circa 1895 - 1925
