An Agra in wool, this antique rug reads as a compact study of garden geometry and calligraphic ornament. A mihrab-style field hosts a repeating tree-of-life repeat that flows into a stylised jardiniere, while the surrounding border alternates floral vines with inscribed cartouches. The neutral ground is warmed by red and gold accents, yielding a composed, textile-like surface with restrained colour transitions. Low distress preserves tactile surface and pattern clarity, suggesting careful use and conservation. Circa 1900 - 1915. Size: 4' 0" x 5' 11". The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
