The field reads as a pale ground punctuated by a large floral medallion and scrolling arabesques, all worked in muted cream and green with subtle secondary tones. Wear has mellowed the design into a gently softened surface that highlights the weave’s tactile clarity. This wool antique rug carries an even abrash and patina that feels deliberate rather than distressed. The composition and colour sensibility speak to an earlier era of Persian workshop practice.
