This Mahal measures 10' 10" x 19' 11" and presents a layered allover floral lattice in neutral, brown and gold wool. Circa 1880 - 1900. The field reads quietly complex: repeating palmettes and small rosettes sit beneath softened tones where age has mellowed the pile. Multiple floral borders remain legible, their motifs reduced to elegant fragments by even wear. Surface abrasion and areas of polished loss produce a tactile, low-contrast patina consistent with medium distress. As an antique rug the piece feels both crafted and timeworn, its subtle colour shifts and restrained composition giving it a considered, heritage presence.
