This Agra is a quietly refined wool antique rug, its 10' 10" x 15' 7" dimensions offering a broad, whisper-soft field of neutral and cream. An allover lattice of small rosettes and palmettes reads like a faded textile drawing, while layered guard borders contain a gentler, more ornate repeat. Surface wear and abrash have softened contrast and revealed subtle tonal depth; several areas show sympathetic repairs that add to the patina. The piece feels lived-in yet composed, a study in restraint where threadbare moments and creamy highlights become part of the design narrative. Circa 1880 - 1895.
