This Afshar long runner measures 7' 4" x 22' 0" and reads as a study in restrained geometry and worn tactility. A dense, repeating lattice of linked palmettes and rosettes fills a softened navy field while layered brown, cream and ivory tones register subtle abrash. Narrow guard borders frame the composition with a refined sequence of leaf and rosette motifs. Surface wear at the center and scattered low-pile areas give the piece a quiet, worked presence. An antique rug that balances patterned rigor with the calm of age, Circa 1875 - 1895.
