A gracious Yazd in wool, 10' 6" x 13' 10", this antique rug reads as a study in faded colour and layered patina. The all-over floral palmettes and scrolling vines sit against a softly muted ground, while a broad floral border frames the composition. Time-worn pile and evident abrash reveal hand-aged colour shifts and a low, satiny sheen where wear has polished the wool. The palette of neutral, red and brown remains warm and restrained, the motifs detailed yet relaxed by age. Circa 1885 - 1925, this piece retains a quiet presence that speaks to craft and long use.
