This Agra reads in a soft, neutral register, cream ground warmed by faded terracotta and taupe accents rendered in wool. At 12' 0" x 17' 3" the design is an airy all-over of scrolling palmettes and floral sprays, held inside a wide palmette border whose ornament is gently blurred by use. The surface shows medium, even wear and subtle abrash that lends painterly depth to the motifs. Circa 1900 - 1915, this antique rug balances formal, architectural proportion with a lived-in, tactile surface that emphasizes age, craft, and quiet restraint.
