An Agra in wool, this 10' 0" x 13' 6" antique rug carries an atmosphere of soft erosion. The field reads as a wash of beige and cream threaded with muted teal and brown, where a central medallion and floral arabesques have softened toward impression. A broad guard border of elongated cartouches remains legible beneath years of abrasion. The pile is low and thoroughly worn, with scattered repairs and visible abrash that unify the neutral palette; the wool retains a warm, tactile hand despite high distress. Circa 1880 - 1900.
