An elegant Mahal in a softly faded red field, this wool antique rug measures 8' 10" x 12' 3". The allover lattice of interconnected cartouches holds small floral rosettes and palmettes, with neutral and navy accents punctuating the warm brown-red ground. Low distress preserves a supple hand and clear border definition; subtle abrash and gentle wear give the surface a layered, tactile patina that reads as lived-in restraint.
