At 10' 2" x 13' 2", this Heriz reads as architectural and tactile: a bold angular medallion anchors a compartmentalized field of stylized floral and geometric panels. Woven in wool, the palette layers deep red, warm brown and soft neutral ivory with dusty green accents and a fine abrash that quiets the dyes. Wear is low and even, the pile remaining supple to the touch and the broad borders resolute with repeated hooked motifs and rosette elements. The composition retains the material presence and hand of the maker; visible age gives the colors a warm patina. This is an antique rug with measured gravitas. Circa 1880 - 1900
