An Agra woven in wool, this antique rug presents a composed field of repeating guls and star-like medallions set against a deep brown ground softened to gold and neutral tones. The layered border carries stylised tree and floral motifs that frame the central repeat with quiet symmetry. Surface abrasion and gentle abrash reveal a lived, tactile surface and a medium distress that reads as part of the rug’s patina. The piece measures 9' 0" x 12' 0" and retains a substantial presence while feeling worn-in and immediate. Circa 1900 - 1920.
