This Mahal presents a quietly eroded presence, an antique rug whose wool field reads as a watercolor of neutral and faded blue. A once-pronounced central medallion and trailing floral vines are softened by age; the palmette and rosette border remains legible in muted cream and navy notes. Surface abrash and medium wear reveal a tactile patina across the 10' 8" x 13' 7" scale, giving the piece an archival, clothlike quality. The palette carries restrained accents of rose and green that punctuate the field without disturbing its calm. Circa 1885 - 1925.
