This Tabriz is woven in wool with a warm terracotta field enlivened by an allover floral lattice of palmettes, rosettes and scrolling vines, all held within a deep brown multi-band border punctuated by oval cartouches. The surface shows low, even wear and a soft, tactile pile, with ivory and ochre highlights that read like subtle abrash across the field. The design’s refined proportions and worked detail speak to late 19th-century sensibilities. Circa 1885 - 1910. This antique rug measures 9' 1" x 12' 5" and carries a quiet, heritage presence through layered color and careful craft.
