This Tabriz presents a softened, painterly expression of classical floral work in wool. The 10' 4" x 14' 9" scale reads as a calm field of urns and flowering sprays framed by a broad foliate border; muted browns, cream and white settle into an antique rug patina. Wear is even, lending a tactile, lived-in surface where navy details peek through a warm tan ground. The weave restraint and refined botanical vocabulary feel of an earlier generation of Tabriz workshops. Circa 1895 - 1915, this piece is tactile and quietly architectural, a study in faded colour and detailed handwork preserved in wool.
