A refined Kashan with a formal central medallion and an allover floral ground, handwoven in wool with a quietly layered palette of blue, purple, white and cream. The 10' 6" x 14' 0" scale gives graceful proportion to the scrolling vines, palmettes and repeated corner spandrels. Low distress preserves a tactile pile and finely drawn pattern, the borders retaining clear, repeating motifs. This antique rug reads as both graphic and delicate, a piece where age has softened colour and amplified texture. Circa 1920 - 1940. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
