An Agra woven in wool, this antique rug measures 4' 5" x 6' 5" and reads as an intimate garden panel. A dark, near-brown field holds a dense array of stylized vines, twin columns, a central vase and figural birds, set against an ivory floral border. Sage and teal accents with restrained rust highlights give depth to the composition while low distress preserves a subtle tactile pile. The piece has a measured, architectural balance and careful drawing that reward close looking. Circa 1905 - 1935. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
