A compact Heriz runner in wool, 3' 1" x 11' 4", that carries a sequence of bold geometric medallions across a warm red field. Neutral and brown accents define serrated guard borders and a strong outer border, their colors softened by low, even wear that reveals a tactile, handworn surface. The scale of the motifs reads architectural yet clearly hand-drawn, an antique rug where pattern and material speak of sustained use and careful making. The overall effect is matter-of-fact and quietly expressive, a study in form, fibre and time. Circa 1900 - 1930
