A Caucasian wool antique rug articulated in a soft, pictorial vocabulary. The field presents a reclining figure rendered in coral and ivory against teal-blue and taupe grounds, punctuated by rose cartouches and small botanical motifs. The narrow floral border and an angular glyph-like band frame the scene with a graphic cadence. Surface wear is moderate, the palette gently faded and layered with abrash that reads like time-worn dye. The tactile wool shows painterly, almost naïve brushstrokes of colour. Circa 1900 - 1920. Exact size 6' 3" x 4' 2". The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
