An Agra in soft neutrals and gold highlights, this large antique rug measures 13' 5" x 17' 0". A faded central medallion reads with palmettes and curling vines across an open field, while a broad floral border contains the composition. The wool has mellowed to a low, tactile surface; dyes have softened into gentle abrash and a warm patina. Medium distress appears as softened pile and worn edges, lending a composed, lived-in authority to the piece.
