The indigo-tinged guard borders provide contrast to the warm red ground, while soft cream and neutral highlights clarify the pattern. Low distress keeps the design legible and tactile, with subtle abrash adding layered colour and time-worn depth. The piece measures 8' 9" x 10' 0" and reads as a quietly sophisticated field of repeating motifs and refined scale. Circa 1885 - 1900.
