This antique rug, a Heriz runner woven in wool, measures 3' 0" x 14' 8". The narrow field unfolds a disciplined lattice of stylized palmettes and angular floral medallions, contained by narrow floral guard borders. The palette centers on muted red warmed by cream and neutral highlights; distress is low and the surface reads tactile and mellow, with subtle abrash that unifies the tones. Circa 1900 - 1920. The composition retains strong graphic clarity while bearing the softened surface of age, a quietly assured study in regional pattern and handworked fibre.
