An Agra of generous scale, this antique rug measures 14' 9" x 18' 8" and reads as a soft, lived-in field of tiny floral motifs. A pale neutral ground is enlivened by faded pink and muted red accents, arranged in an allover vine and scattered palmette composition bounded by narrow floral borders. Wool pile retains a tactile, low-sheen surface while medium distress reveals gentle abrash and softened outlines that lend quiet depth. The overall effect is one of calm patina and careful craft, a large Agra that carries age with restraint. Circa 1885 - 1900
