This Mahal is a quietly sophisticated antique rug in wool, its dense floral lattice rendered in faded terracotta, soft grey and ivory. The field reads as rhythmic rows of small rosettes and scrolling vines, framed by a broad floral border of larger roundels. Surface wear has created a layered patina and gentle abrash across the field, while the pile remains soft to the touch. The overall presence is one of time-earned restraint and tactile depth. Circa 1900 - 1920. Size: 12' 0" x 13' 3". The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
