This Baluch in wool is a compact, narrative antique rug whose 3' 8" x 7' 2" scale reads intimate and deliberate. A deep red prayer-panel anchors the composition, flanked by columnar tree-of-life motifs on an ivory ground and punctuated by two stylised faces and small geometric fills. A chain of square medallions contains the field, lending a graphic frame to the soft, tactile palette of cream and neutral tones. Low distress preserves crisp motif definition while subtle abrash and gentle pile wear attest to age and use. Circa 1890 - 1910.
