This Heriz antique rug measures 4' 9" x 6' 4" and reads as a study in weight and pattern. A resolute angular medallion anchors a woven field, its geometry balanced by a layered sequence of guard borders filled with small floral and geometric motifs. The wool pile retains a tactile presence with low distress and well-resolved colour transitions; deep blue and warm neutral tones are brightened by cream highlights. The weave’s fortitude and considered wear give it a lived, design-forward quality. Circa 1905 - 1920. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
