An elegant Mahal in warm gold and neutral brown, woven in wool and offered as an antique rug that measures 3' 10" x 5' 8". A single blue medallion rises from a gently aged golden field, its scalloped spandrels and layered floral borders rendered in rust and teal accents. Wear is modest and the pile reads soft, with subtle abrash that enlivens the ground rather than obscuring pattern. Fine, muted floral motifs and a compact guard border speak to refined palette control and a considered design vocabulary. Circa 1890 - 1930.
