A quietly refined Turkish wool rug, its field a softened rose-red softened by layers of wear and neutral brown motifs. The allover palmette-and-rosette lattice sits within a broad neutral guard border, the repeating motifs reading through a worn, low pile. Surface abrasion and even fading reflect a medium distress level and a painterly abrash that lends a lived-in patina. The scale and woolen texture remain tactile and design-forward; dimensions are 11' 9" x 14' 7". This antique rug balances restrained colour and clear pattern, an object of craft and time.
