A generously scaled Mahal in wool, its all-over floral arabesque softened by time into a muted, tactile field. The original red border frames a brown and neutral ground threaded with palmettes and vine work, the pattern revealed in places and nearly gone in others. Surface wear and a few historic patched losses lend a lived-in texture that reads as history underfoot. This antique rug balances a disciplined composition with painterly fading and abrash, its presence quiet and resonant. Circa 1910 - 1925. Exact size: 10' 6" x 16' 6". The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
