An expansive Agra in soft, muted red and russet browns, rendered in wool and showing a long life of wear and patina. The original allover floral motif sits quietly beneath extensive surface abrash, the border pattern read as a warmer frame against a faded field. Measure 11' 4" x 14' 0"; the scale and wear give the piece a very tactile presence. This antique rug retains a strong sense of hand and time, its worn surface and frayed edges speaking to continuous use and careful preservation. Circa 1880 - 1900.
