A Mahal defined by a warm golden field set against a deep navy border, rendered in wool with a low-wear surface and refined detailing. Intricate palmettes, scrolling vines and compact rosettes form a measured all-over lattice while triangular navy spandrels provide a strong frame for the lighter centre. The original dyes have softened to muted teal and rust accents, giving the piece a cultivated, lived-in patina. Circa 1910 - 1925. This antique rug measures 9' 0" x 10' 7" and shows gentle abrash and restrained losses that preserve the clarity of its composition.
