A Heriz woven in wool, this antique rug carries a graphic medallion and angular, foliate motifs rendered in a restrained neutral, white and cream palette. The design reads with structural clarity despite surface abrash and softened highlights that reveal the rug’s long life. Medium distress has thinned the pile in places while lending a tactile, worn patina to the field and borders. The composition balances architectural geometry with painterly fading; the hand of traditional Heriz design remains legible and bold. Circa 1895 - 1910. Size: 6' 7" x 9' 1".
