This Agra antique rug measures 9' 9" x 11' 6", and presents a richly layered field of gold, brown, and deep navy softened by age. A stepped medallion anchors the composition, while delicate vinework and floral detail spread across the open ground with a measured, painterly rhythm. The broad border adds depth through repeated cartouches and palmettes, giving the rug a formal, architectural frame. Circa 1890 - 1910, its medium distress lends a grounded, lived-in surface, with fading that lends the wool a quieter, more atmospheric register. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
