This Heriz antique rug measures 3' 8" x 4' 2" and presents a grounded, graphic field in deep blue, rust, ivory, and brown. A central stepped medallion anchors the composition, while smaller geometric medallions and floral elements repeat across the field in a balanced, rhythmic arrangement. The rust border frames the design with crisp angular ornament and floral guards, adding warmth against the cooler ground. Woven in wool, it shows low distress, with age-softened color and a relaxed surface that reads as lived-with rather than heavy worn. Circa 1920 - 1935.
