This Heriz antique rug measures 7' 4" x 10' 0" and presents the classic graphic energy associated with the type, here rendered in a saturated red ground with navy, cream, and muted blue accents. The stepped geometry, angular medallion structure, and densely patterned border create a strong, balanced composition with a lived-in clarity. Wool lends the surface a tactile depth, while the low distress preserves much of the design definition. Circa 1920 - 1940, it carries the warm abrasion and softened finish that give an antique rug its depth without overwhelming the pattern.
