This Mahal antique rug, 10' 7" x 12' 4", carries a weathered floral field in rust brown, powder blue, and softened ivory tones. The composition is open and layered, with scrolling vines and stylised blossoms held within a floral border that keeps the whole image grounded. Its high distress level gives the surface a softly worn, textural presence, with areas of fading that flatten and lift the pattern at once. Circa 1915 - 1930, it reflects the generous scale and relaxed elegance associated with Mahal rugs, while retaining a quiet balance between colour, ornament, and age.
