This Kysari antique rug, measuring 2' 11" x 4' 0", is rendered in silk with a hushed palette of cream, ivory, taupe, and faded rose. The composition is quietly formal, with a softly worn central field framed by a border of scrolling floral and medallion motifs. Areas of heavy distress have lifted the design into a painterly blur, while the faded reds and greyed neutrals still trace the original structure. Circa 1900 - 1935, it carries the patina and tactile softness that define a lived-in silk surface. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
