This Turkish textile has a graphic rhythm that reads clearly from across a room and rewards a closer look with layered, handwoven detail. The reversible surface shifts between saturated red and a softer white and cream ground, both animated by a diagonal lattice and scrolling foliate motifs. Its long, tailored 4' 9" x 9' 5" proportions make it especially versatile for a narrow hall, along a runner-like entry, or beside a bed. Circa 1900 - 1915, it shows gentle overall wear, softened colour, and a lived-in edge character that gives the piece its grounded appeal. This vintage rug retains a considered, tactile character.
