This Caucasian antique rug measures 4' 1" x 5' 7" and presents a strong graphic field of stacked medallions in navy, blue, red, cream, and purple. A dense border system of small floral and angular motifs frames the central composition, creating a vivid sense of movement against the darker ground. The wool surface shows low wear, with softened pile and subtle fading that enhances the rug's depth and tactility. Circa 1880 - 1900, it carries the crisp geometry and saturated colour relationships that define the most compelling Caucasian examples. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
