This Kysari antique rug, measuring 3' 11" x 5' 4", is rendered in silk with a softly worn, painterly hand. A red field anchors the composition, framed by an arched niche and slender column forms, while the surrounding borders carry small repeating motifs in rose, navy, teal, and ivory. The palette has mellowed into a layered blend of blush and faded jewel tones, giving the surface a quiet glow. Medium distress adds to its timeworn character, softening the drawing and deepening the textile’s atmosphere. Circa 1920 - 1940. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
